Tony Brown or Gordon Blair??
But they’re Not entirely the same person. In fact, we Are all convinced
that we should give this guy a chance. None of us believe that the whole place Can get any worse with the new resident. We are all sticking our hopes to this chap who will
change All things for the better!
So let’s start with the Other guy. This chap was Seriously a wild card. Bush loved him. Bush loved him. And George Bush loved Him! Perhaps this was a reflection on the Blair true leadership that all of us Never, ever want to forget. How can we ignore this PM? How?!
There was his delightful family. There was his endearing wife. And All that policy that was so Completely in the Interest of the Nation. And he was in Downing Street So often. I thought that his EU Presidency was just SO memorable. To say nothing of his Superb defence of questions in the House. He seemed to stand at the Despatch Box with the confidence that oozed the true greatness of his Party. Right now they are playing behind me those truly unforgettable moments that this man showed us the true Genius of his leading!
Perhaps his Dentist could have worked a
little harder. Perhaps he could have seemed a little more genuine. Perhaps he could have stopped selling peerages. Maybe he could have seemed a little less Most Equal Pig than the other equal pigs. Or maybe, they could have saved all those appearances of this wonderful chap for Question Time. That would be Good!
Ok. So there’s a New guy in Town.. His name is Gordon Blair.. No, Tony Brown? No.. Make that Gordon Brown.. That’s Right. He seems a little more intent on using the toilet in No. 10 in the interest of the Nation. Or, maybe the sink would gain him votes. In fact if he Sneezes somewhere on the premises, he will probably turn the tide against David Cameron?!
So he has to go see Her Majesty. She probably says "Well, things Could be Ok, then?" Or says something like "Well, a little light work on the waistline, young man!" Or, maybe, "I’ll give you just five minutes to Sort out this War!!" Whereas, in truth, it’s all quite exciting as The Queen senses that some real positive change is in the Air... Now it IS, isn’t It?? Ehh??!
So we all sit around waiting for the disclosure of a new Cabinet... After, all, there is Always a call for a decent New Cabinet around here. Personally, I think that mine might be getting a little bit dusty and I should consider seeking out Cabinets of much grander Disposition?!
To say nothing of the Spin.. Now this guy has Spin that would make Henman quiver. If there aren’t 100 Peter Mandelsohns’ hanging around the new creature then I am most surprised.
But the real message is to probably give him at least a month or two chance. If nothing more than a cool, long look at the cowboys he’s fried to be opening that rather famous new Door!
In the end, I guess you get what you pay for. And this new kid on the block Does have some vague ideas about fiscal policy. To say nothing of the fact that he can presumably allow himself the sort of salary that would make most people squint. And, in time, the fiscal transference will show that we can all breathe a little lighter with whoever is in No. 11? Ow!
Perhaps a change is as good as a rest. Who knows? We all need some Change!! TN 2007.
