Understanding the Difference Between Men and Women (Problems, Thinking)

Article Summary by: libra1977

Original Author: Michael G. Conner, Psy.D
In this study problems
and thinking are considered as two
areas where men and women are prone to act in a different
way.
Problems
The author admits that the results of problem solving can be equally
successful no matter who solves this or that problem a man or a woman. But the
major difference arises in the approach of looking for a solution. While women
make emphasis on how to solve a
problem trying to cooperate with people involved in the problem solving
process, men prefer to dominate and demonstrate their intelligence and
capability regardless personal relationship.
Thinking
The process of thinking is extremely interesting on our point of
view as it reveals psychological differences between male and female. Women are
able to regard problems on the whole paying attention to details which can
influence the solution in a positive way. It is not difficult for women to
solve several problems at one time although they often involve their personal
experience while thinking over a task. This last remark seems to us absolutely
true. Sometimes a woman considering examples from her own life can intuitively
find a successful solution, or on the contrary, can make a problem more
complicated. In this case men’s ability to focus on a problem as it exists is
highly appreciated. To choose one task to do it is men’s characteristic feature
It is obvious that men and women think differently but it doesn’t
prevent them from solving problems equally efficiently.
