Every feast day is a celebration of life lived or a
good event that invites us to give thanks to God for his love and mercy. It is an opportunity to pray that others may also receive God’s goodness and grace. God always holds us on the palm of his hand. He looks after us in our growing years. He lets us live our life to the full until we realize that life is to be lived for him alone. He always allows what is good for us. He is faithful to all he loves.
Friendship is the best venue to share God with others.
let us take a look at our everyday dealings. Being a
Friend is being all things to others. It is only with friends that we can share our intimate secrets, our precious thoughts and possessions. With our friends, we become more feeling persons. Everything that we know is brought to the level of the
heart. We become persons with a heart that “
sees” because of our friends. A friend can recognize God in us if when we try our best to practice human virtues in real faith. Then and only then can we facilitate the workings of grace in other people’s souls. As God shares all the good things with us, let us also share the same with others. Offer them the essentials of life, what is urgent and important, what they really need. That is, a good, true and beautiful life in God! If we do this, people will be happy to be with us. When we are sincere to people, we can win them for God. Friendship with Jesus is the basis of all friendship here on earth. Christ is our “True Friend.” Our Lord is such a good friend, a regular guy who could be with friends. He stays with people who live in simplicity and naturalness. He wants to be with those who listen to Him, who care for Him and who serve other well. Christ shows us how to be a loving and obedient Son, a caring friend, truly a “Man for All.” He is One with a “heart that sees” all the time. He always shepherds us with his own heart. Let’s be friends with God; let us, like him, do good all the time and offer what we have to others.
