  • This book describes the results of the latest scientific researches on stress and tension| what precisely it is, hoe the human body fights it: what diseases occur when the body succumbs to it| Different stress situations in our daily life and most importantly, how to avoid stress and how to listen to it.

In Doctor Hans Selye’s experiments, the rats which were exposed to severe cold and the rats put in the revolving cages showed the same results as injecting formaldehyde, that is degenerating swollen adrenals, degenerated lymphatic system and stomach ulcers. And they ultimately died. That’s what is happening to people under the stress.

Patients who occasionally get headache are advised not to expect perfection in every thing from people around them. They could accept things and not to be bogged down by needless mental tension in day-today living. Frequent headache in a person is a signal, telling him that he must mend his mental stress-producing habits, which if not done, may lead to more damaging diseases later on.

He says that one can choose between working at a lower gear without trouble and for long, or at a higher gear with trouble and in constant danger of a breakdown in an essential organ and collapse.

Prayer is most effective when it does not ask for any thing but is intended as a gesture of thanks giving for all that God has given us.

Three main principles that maintain homeostasis in cells, organs, people and entire societies, and help them to face the stressors encountered in their constant fight for survival, security and happiness, according to Hans Selye are|

    1. Find your own natural stress level and run towards what you accept as your own goal
    2. practice altruistic egotism
    3. Earn thy neighbor’s love. Man is a social being. You must try to trust at least some people.
