It is a famous proverb, ‘Disappointment
is the nurse of wisdom’. The literal meaning of ‘Disappointment in
Oxford dictionary is ‘displeasure or sadness when one’s hopes or dreams are not
fulfilled’ and ‘Wisdom’ means ‘the quality of having experience, knowledge and
good judgement’. It is sad when failure comes to a person and we start losing
faith in life and ourselves. If failure recurs one develops suicidal
tendencies. It happens to any and everyone. But if we look from a positive
perspective, we learn the opposite. We can become stronger and more committed
towards are dreams.
When we face failures we must try
and find out the reason for our failure. We should not sit down in despair but
become more active with determination. The spirit should be of working harder
towards our goal after overcoming the shortcomings. This positive attitude will
make us reach our goal, finally.
Say for example, a teenager may
fail in his/her board examinations. It is a very depressing after devoting a
year to it. With the support of their parents, the child must re-start with the
aim passing the examinations next year, with flying colors. If sorrows grip the
child in between, he/she must keep going. Positive spirited efforts and
determined efforts will get the child success, surely.
A mother lost her two new born
babies immediately after deliveries. She and her husband are shattered and lose
faith in life. They decide to give up the idea of having their baby but it is
not forever. Maybe God has something better in store for them than being
parents at the moment. With this belief, they start living by loving each other
with a positive mind. I am sure, one day their dream of parenthood will be
fulfilled.
Everything has a right time and
failure is a lesson. Losses are for good reasons which become evident only when
the time comes. So we should keep going in life, when our hopes are lost. This
makes us wiser and hence more mature. Let’s keep the faith in God and Life, and
prove the above proverb true, however tough it gets.
