Why do we feel anger?Are there ways to prevent anger, to overcome it or at least controle it?
We get angry when a person or a situation interferes with something important to us. It can be an insult, a barrier or even a contradiction of what we think is right. When we enocounter an obstacle,anger is likely to kick in from an utononomic nervous system, usually followed by fast heart rate and heavy breathing. There is an explanation in connection to survival - those who were able to defend themselves were most likely to endure. Although we still have threatening forms in life and the feeling of anger is not a totaly unreasonable reaction, the trouble is that we often respond "big" to things that don`t merit that reaction.A more measured approach to the matter is what we have to achieve. Cool off first ! When it ocmes to anger, it`s not always a great idea to share your feelings in the heat of the moment. One has to cool down so that he can identify the source of the problem. If it`s another person, try to undersand her situation. Then you can decide what to do next. The trick is to stop whatever is making trouble without causing harm. But it`s a trick you need to learn and train.
