Is Flexibility a sign of maturity ?
Is flexibility- a sign of maturity ? With aging happening to us, either we turn fragile or flexible?
Physically- yes, we do turn fragile. Some biological changes remain happening, degeneration process is relatively governing us or all living being. But mentally also,do we turn fragile, obsolete,or flexibility is gained.
When we refer to flexibility, I understand, a sense of acceptance of environment changes. Mostly internally- maturity is creeping in but outwardly, need to dominate, control, exercising power, availing kingdom at home or at work prevails and inspite of internal realizations, tough gestures, postures, language and behavior intrude back into the self and cause damage to maturity achieved. This seems to be a degenerative chain process and is a sort of self-denial to an automatic learning for flexibility. An artificial layer of fragile temperament, or sort of set of ego framework does not allow the leanings to become operational.
Another way of looking at this question is- flexibility is state of mind, which permits all inputs, but experiences driven conclusions might have made us rigid on certain matters, if not fragile.
Interestingly, learning over a period brings maturity but not necessarily flexibility. Much to say -ashwani
