ndare was the court jester from ancient times in Sri-Lanka.Every body enjoyed his jokes,king,queenand people.
One day when Andare was newly married,the queen told to him that she would like to see his beloved wife and asked to bring her one day to palace.Then Andare said "Your Highness,She is deaf and she should be spoken too loudly.Otherwise she cannot hear properly."The queen said."It is quite all right,bring your young wife soon."Then he accepted the invitation.
Andare went to his home,called his wife and said.'The queen would like to see you,my dear."When she heard that accepted it with delight.
Another day he went with his wife to meet the queen.On the way,Andare started praising the queen and said."The queen is radiant as a gem,beautiful as a lotus flower,but she is deaf.Only if you speak to her loudly can she hear properly."The wife also felt sorry for the queen's deafness and went to the palace.Both of them entered the queen's living room and bowed her and stood aside.Then the queen spoke louldly to Andare's wife and said."Why didn't you come earlier to visit the palace?"Andare's wife also answered too loudly."Your Highness,I was late because my husband's fault."Then Andare let his wife and the queen to talk as they wished and left the chamber and stood outside and started laughing alone.
The king also hear this lould conversation,coming from the queen's chamber,walked to wards.Then he saw,Andare is laughing alone with covering his mouth in his palm and realized that is one jok of Andare.All the same the palace servents came there hearing this loud vioce and stood behind the king and began to laugh.
When the queen and Andare's wife knew,What was happened,the queen was furious with Andare and wife was shame and anger with the insident.Both of them waited eagerly until their turn came to get back at him
While the wife and Andare,on their way back to home.Andare walked laughing but wife walked behind him with out talking.Suddenly started to rain,she ran quickly and went to the house and closed the door,while Andare was out side.He got wet and started to bashing the door very louldly.The wife thought that this is the time to take the revenge for what he did to her.She desided to keep her husband outside until tomorrow.As all the efforts in getting the door opened,did not work any.
Then Andare took a huge stone and carried that to the well and said-"ok,now I'm jumping to the well."and threw the stone to the well.He hid him self behind a tree and wait little bit.
When wife heard the heavy splashing on water,she got scared thinking that he has jumped into the well and opened the door and ran towards the well.Then Andareran fast towards the door and closed it keeping his wife outside.As she got wet and begged him to open the door.After some time he felt sorry for her pleading and opened the door and they became friends.
