Indians must bite the bullet by taking drastic measures for bringing down population. Recent slowdown has led to 49 percent drop in employment across the board. All industries have borne the brunt, as all had gained while the economies were booming. Other countries will now be wary of letting jobs leave their borders. Nor will they welcome outsiders in their homes to take away jobs of their children. Let us face it, we knew all along what we were doing. But we were taking advantage of others hesitation. Nobody likes permanent guests and another holocost should be logically avoided by preventing building of resentment. Now that things have surfaced in this manner, where should we send our 49 percent of unemployed youth? The sooner we take steps in the right direction, the better future we can offer to next generation. All it requires is some strict measures like what China did. Can the champions of human rights and choices explain how the unemployed young people are to be fed? And will it not force the elderly to bear the brunt of their frustration. A few months ago, there was an article in which VHP was asking every Hindu family to have more children so that they are able to maintain their majority. Such irresponsible dictats in consequential matters by politicians and religious heads can only mean further deterioration of conditions for the country's youth. It is time for one woman one child norm, and had VHP suggested it in this manner, the same results could have been achieved.
