  From the end of the 1990s, the state has invested the Internet industry by sponsoring a study of opportunities of this new sector.
The results of this state policy have been visible with 10,000 domain names and websites. The number of websites it hovered around 200. Around 2009-2010, this number was multiplied by 2 and there are about 400 sites online business in Tunisia.
Tunisia is fairly well equipped with telecommunications infrastructure for an African country with 36% of urban and rural population that has a fixed line phone and 22 computers per 100 inhabitants. Yet the volume of electronic transactions is low when taking into account the 980 million dinars invested.
It seems that electronic commerce will grow with the mobile phone that has almost every Tunisian. Tunisia Telecom and Orange as the operator realized by offering individuals and businesses many services _ tickets buying, transfer funds, pay factures_ in partnership with the Post.
What are the stages of an electronic transaction?
1. Create a site
2. describe and offer its products or services
3. complete a secure form online ordering, giving customers contacts
4. pay with a payment approved by the operator (eg a credit card) and ensure that sufficient financial resources available
5. deliver
6. Some software can track the evolution of online delivery
