Child Adoption

Article Summary   by:puja

Being a PAP I have been running around madly to adopt a child. In India, when someone tries to go ahead and do something good, it is not at all easy. The procedure is so tough and lengthy that it often makes the PAP’s loose their patience. The paper work is tiresome. Agreeing to the fact that there is sex trade and other crimes against children and new born kids, it is mandatory.

The rules laid down by the CARA, the adoption agency all over India are definitely to be followed by PAP(Prospective Adaptive Parents), and not very tough. They receive children from Child Line. But there are some agencies following these rules while some do not. They make every effort to make money out of the need of the PAP’s. This appears to be wrong and needs to be checked. Why doesn’t the government do strict vigilance over all the agencies?

The adoption agencies say that they also keep a check on the illegal way of child adoption through nursing homes. This is surely a good act and must be encouraged. For NRI’s it is even tougher to adopt a baby.

Quoting a few examples, it is a pity to know that the adoption agencies get kids in dustbins or at the door step of their centers. I wonder why people do such acts. Ironically, God also does not give kids to people who can afford.

Hoping that people realize when to have a child and when to not and hats of to the agencies who are doing such a job following CARA guidelines.
