I was listening to the BBC Radio 3 Team and heard the sad news that Dame Joan Sutherland died age 83 at her home in I believe, Switzerland and Dame Joan Sutherland performed also with the late Pavoretti and according to the BBC Radio 3 team Dame Joan will be sadly missed and she is a great loss to the world of music and opera .. apparently she retred 20 years ago at I guess 63 so her music will go on and on.
However, as I brushed my hair dressed got up, had a bath, I read too, that agony auntie Claire Raylor has died at her home in Harrow NW London age 79 and that she never recovered from an operation last May but she was keen before she died to have her last words recorded as follows:
"Tell David Cameron if he screws up my beloved NSH I'll come back and bloody haunt him". Des Rayner husband for 53 years said "I have lost my best friend - my soulmate - I am immensely proud of her"
When expecting her first child and on maternity leave Raynor became a free lance journalist and she wrote for the Sun, The Sunday Mirror and Women's Own" she had an impoverished childhood.
Raynor was awarded the OBE in 1996 for "services to women (and health)". She will have a Humanist furneral and she is survived by her family Amanda, Adam and Jay. Raynor's husband commented . "she helped hundreds and thousands of people". The world mourns the passing of two great women . Obituaries! Thanks BBC Radio 3 and Sky News .. Hard work pays UP!
