Ms. Hasi (fake name), member from a poor family of Bangladesh, and lives in slum area of urban Dhaka. She is a divorcee and she chose the job of an ‘Aya’ of a leading national NGO of Bangladesh where she would get total salary BDT 2200/- per months in the year 2008. She would get higher salary if she would choose the job of a garments worker. But she didn’t do that because of various rumors about garments sector. She thought that the job of an aya may better than the job of a garments worker. But, her destiny played opponent role with her. Someday the manager of Hasi, Mr. XXX, tried to harass her sexually when she was sweeping his room on a holiday. Hasi left her work place at once on that day and never came here even for her salary. After few days of her absence the Executive Director of that organization sent another aya to look for Hasi and bring a news about her. When another aya went to Hasi’s house, Hasi told her the story of that day to another aya. When the aya came to Executive Director and told the story, the Executive Director told that it was nothing but a conspiracy against the accused manager and allowed Hasi to leave the organization for good. The manager was not even asked to show the minimum cause. Dear readers, believe me or not, the Executive Director of this case study was female. The story of the case study - 01 was of the year 2008. Now in the same organization, the same person, Mr. XXX tried to harass sexually his new target Ms. Shilpi (fake name) in January 2011. Now, same as the previous case Mr. XXX is in his position but after a confidential financial deed with another third aya. After the deed, Mr. XXX saying that there was no incidence at all. For your kind information, the victim aya is also working here, as she needs the job very much and she can’t go anywhere. This is the story of one NGO of Bangladesh, what about the rest ones.
