gain I read today in the Hindu that the High court has been requested to initiate action by the Hazardous waste Management Committee to stop the decommissioned aircraft carrier proceeding towards our Country. The waste management committee has asked to produce records that the
ship is loaded hazardous material within the limits of Basel convention from the Authorities.
Though the ship is expected to reach our breaking yard within four weeks from today it seems that no appropriate action and remedies would be taken before its entry to our Country. It seems that the ship is now floating not only with the harmful luggage but also with the unexplainable problems and unanswerable questions which are also raising now and then more and more like waves. It would be a great achievement even it lands our shoreafter solving or convincing all sort of issues and descripencies or it turns back to its starting place due to various actions and protests raised all over the World
Let us wait and see whether the problems are sunk or ship is facing its destiny. However no doubt every one would leave a sigh of relief if these problems related to this aircraft is oncefor all settled by the autorities concerned.
