Maintaining good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. Most of the time people do not take care of their teeth as they do for the other body parts. As a matter of fact they neglect their Oral Hygiene. Proper oral hygiene results in a mouth that looks and smells healthy. Though Dentist can show you the right path for your oral care there are few steps in your daily life which you can practice easily on your own. Those simple preventive measures can take to greatly decrease the risk of tooth decay, gum disease and other dental problems. These include:

Ø Brushing thoroughly twice a day and flossing daily.
Ø While brushing hold your brush in a 45degree angle and brush very gently.
Ø Try to use tooth brush with softer bristles.
Ø Try to use anti-bacterial toothpaste.
Ø Eating a balanced diet and limiting snacks between meals.
Ø Try to avoid chocolate, ice-cream and sweetening products where concentration of sugar is high.
Ø Drink lots of water daily.
Ø Try to take foods which are fiber-rich.

You all need to follow those simple steps in day to day life. Because healthy teeth not only enable you to look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly. Good oral health reflects your complete personality. It is important to your overall well-being.
