Indian actor Salman Khan was sentenced to one year's imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5000/- by a local court after dragging on for eight years trial for killing two Chinkaras during a pleasure hunt.

The actor however will not go to jail forthwith as the Chief Judicial Magistrate granted him bail so that Salman can approach the sessions court for relief within a month.

There are three more such cases against this actor in the pouching incident in 1998.

Though Salman has won a temporary reprieve, all is not well. Another judgment is expected from the same magistrate in a case for killing blackbuck.

The actor also faces trial for keeping illegal arms and illegal hunting.

Salman Khan, on hearing the verdict, made no comments but he looked upset.
