Mozart, the Prodigal Child
In a recent article composed by a western classical music
addict, some of the well-known legends about the great
musician have come to the fore. Wolfing Amadeus Mozart was
not only a rare talent in music but he was also one of the
greatest child prodigies the world had ever seen. The story
of Mozart whose 250th birth anniversary was celebrated
throughout the world last January was also one of the
harshest physical and financial hardships that could befall
an individual.
The artist’s father Leopard Mozart had ensured that his
child did have access to the best of musical training. The
writer wondered whether Mozart were born in this age, could
he overcome the present day rat race to earn a living and
still excel in the musical pursuits. His guardian would
probably want him to be a professional doctor, lawyer, and
engineer or for that matter anything like millions of
ubiquitous members of the human race. The world then would
have missed out on a Mozart and the resultant joy his music
reverberated in human minds.
Even lying in an unmarked grave could have meant much to
the like of a Mozart. Kings and the famous of Mozart’s
time, who boasted colourful graves with fitting epitaphs,
stopped being relevant long ago. Mozart’s compositions and
performances still remain a thing to cherish and possess
for the world community.
The playing of a little kid called Mozart held sway over
the world for the last 250 years almost, because he started
composing symphonies even before he was five.
