Pay attention if you blush too
What first comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘cherry’? Red? Crimson? Scarlet hued? Carmine? Ruby-red? Rosy? Having lovely cherry cheeks may be a dream for a bunch of women, but for Cherry Nixon it proved to be her worst nightmare. Sadly her over working facial nerves made her face grow red every now and then causing a lot of embarrassment and inconvenience. Her condition, which is medically termed as idiopathic craniofacial erythema, caused her cheeks blush as many as fifty times a day.when her condition worsened, she was impelled to call off her wedding with her first fiancé to save herself from the trauma of confronting the wedding crowd with her undesirably crimsoning cheeks. This particular medical problem is experienced by 10% of the population out of which the worst affected ones land up with tremendous psychological fear. They begin to shun every possible encounter with people and withdraw partially or totally from the outside world. This is exactly what happened to Nixon. Nixon, who developed as a healthy and alert child and a good performer in school, started to face the trouble as she attained maturity. Her affliction went to an extreme and she began to blush severely during every public encounter making her self-esteem and confidence fade away into the thin air. At the age of twenty seven, she broke an engagement to elude her pathetic state. Years later she finally managed to get settled and only after becoming a mother and a working school teacher, she somehow revived her lost morale. She decided to undergo a surgery to cure her medical disorder. Her years of nightmare finally came to a close after a surgery which separated the blood and sweat flow regulating nerves. Nixon, now at the age of fifty three, is reported to confirm that she enjoys every moment of her post-surgery life.
