Scholars as the Politicians -
Today is 5th September which is one of the very remarkable day in India. It is a teacher''s day. This day is celebrated as a tribute to the great philosopher, writer, diplomat and a teacher, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishna who later became the President of India. A scholar can be a good politician and run the world''s biggest democratic nation like India. This statement is applicable not only for Radhakrishnan but also for other great political leaders with high intellectuality. Among them are Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar who is the architect of Indian Constitution. He has honoured many prestigious positions like professor of law, Law minister of India. For the upliftment of the downtrodden people and for eradicating the caste system this man has strived and dedicated his whole life for the sake of this almost impossible mission.
Apart from these leaders some more scholars are there who has contributed a lot in Indian politics. Among them are Madhu Dandwate, Zakir Hussain, Hiren Mukherjee and the current Prime Minister of India, Mr. Manmohan Singh. Teacher Turning to leader is not an Indian phenomena. The people who have made the transition in abroad include Gingrich, formar speaker of House of Representatives, Patric Moynihan proponent of welfare reform
and an ambassador of India and Romano Prodi, one of Italy''s most successful post-war Prime Ministers.
