Taslima reaches Delhi, awaits Govt decision on visa
Apropos this news item- Yahoonews/ibnlive.com 24th November 2007,need a serious thinking. We have enough controversial writers and intellectuals in India. Do we need yet another pain in the neck? It only creates utter chaos among the common people of India. Of course in a democratic free India anybody can say anything about anybody on anything, and then we call it 'Right to speak' or 'Fundamental rights'. Hurting somebody's feeling by word or deed is not right to speak of fundamental rights instead it is objectionable and condemnable. People like Taslimas should keep a watch over on their utterances or writings. If it creates tension and friction among people, one should abstain from such activities for the betterment of the society. Authorities should look into it seriously before giving an extension or a permanent visa. Do we need to pour oil into the burning fire? Before giving an asylum to her the authorities should think very wisely. India at present is having more than enough problems. Instead of making it worse, let us try to find solutions to the existing turmoil. pv.ariel@yahoo.com
