Apropos the write up “Voyeurism Vs Elitism” (The Sunday Indian News Weekly) brought out a serious problem the channels are going to face because of their current activities. It''s a timely warning to the warring channels. Unless they stop the present method (neck to neck fighting—sting operations etc) of colleting and broadcasting news, the noose will fall upon their neck and that will give a bad impact to the whole media including print. As Johnny Lukose of Malayala Manorama and Rajdeep Sardesai of CNNIBN rightly put it, "self regulation by the channels is better than a government censorship." "It is high time that both the media (English and regional languages) should come to a term agreeable to each other," otherwise it will give a disastrous effect on the whole media, which is not at all acceptable to the general public and will create an utter chaos.
