A Spanish couple comes all the way to Tamilnadu to learn about their past, present and future! Hard to believe, but there are several people flocking to Vaitheeswaran Koil, a temple in Tamilnadu to consult a special breed of Astrologers. So what is so special about this style or form of astrology? This form, called Nadi Jothidam in Tamil is said to have originated nearly 5000 years ago. Great sages of yore like Agasthiya, Brighu, Vyasa and Valmiki are credited with developing the power of seeing the past and foreseeing the future of individuals. This amazing knowledge of the powerful yogis is preserved in ancient palm leaf manuscripts called olai chuvadi in Tamil. The inscriptions are made by a sharp nail like instrument called Ezhuthaani in Vattezhuthu script. Many of these are still preserved in this Koil and surroundings by astrologers who charge a fee for their services.
The author was asked to first give her left thumb impression (right for males). Then she was asked details like her name and date of birth. This helped the astrologer to pick up the right manuscript bunch. Then the still skeptical author was asked a series of questions which she had to answer with just a ‘yes’ or ‘no’. With a few answers from her, the specialist was able to zero in on her exact manuscript. (As per the author, this can take a few minutes or even hours). What followed next was unbelievable and ‘uncanny’ as per the author. He reeled off details about her like her exact date of marriage and other related information which he had no way of knowing. He then proceeded to forecast certain happenings.
The author says that details of previous birth also can be gleaned from these astrologers who will also give a cause and effect rationale for our present and future in terms of karmic logic. Possible remedial action for present or potential problems is also spelt out.
