'Indian Express' (IE) always reminds me of 'Indian Railways' (IR).what time will the express (train) come.what time will it leave. is it running timely?? when it comes to indian railways the wait never ends.same is the case with indian express. it keeps you waiting.but not endless.as at times indian railways keeps you waiting.but IE comes every morning.making your wait worth.it makes your day.fills your starving mind with news, articles, editorials.in the age of p3 journalism claiming OTT, indian express is showing courage to showcase cause, issues, corruption, exposing the powerful, lending voice to the masses.journalism of courage in the truest sense.empowering india as it claims.
what journalism should be??? journos are busy debating this issue at length.i fail to understand why they don't pick a leaf from IE and get the answer.entertainment is the in thing!!! ok..but IE has it.give me any name which is a better sunday newspaper than IE?? the ideal sunday reading.not only special reports, exclusives but entertainment too at its best. the regular columns, stock market section, book review and the sunday magazine.perfect bouquet. remember those days when magazines were making their foray and saturdays happened to be the day leading to end your wait.the sunday IE makes ONE feel the same way.
IE doesn't needs semi nude pix of models or p3 animals partying to make newspaper a talcom powder like commodity as 'times they are changing' slogan shouters are trying to make it.a newspaper has to be a newspaper first.the element of entertainment will always be a follower.it could not be the other way round.IE is empowering this sense perfectly.making one comfortable that in the so called era of market driven journalism which claims entertainment to be the only mantra, not everything has lost.thinking people shall not be deprived of their right to get a thought provoking newspaper every morning.like the early morning air.feeling your senses with renewed freshness if it was chocked with the effects of the previous night's 'sansani's' (on the small screen).nothing could be beter than making one's day and nothing worse than ruining one's day.IE makes the reader's day.with it's express effect.KUDOS
