Are you interested in free mobile calls? Of course, in today’s scenario every one will be interested, but then, there also we have to pay! Yes, we have to pay not in money but in patience! Really fantastic!!

Forget low call tariffs, cheap text messages, package offers, discount plans and the like offered by various mobile operators. You could soon be paying nothing for making calls from your cell phone, provided you have the patience to listen to advertisement jingles or commercials for about thirty to forty five seconds before a call goes through.

The service, named “sponsored calls”, on offer soon by an Indian mobile operator is similar to the one launched in the United States last year. In the final stages of preparation, the marketing initiative is likely to be on offer on local calls made within a network.

However, OnMobile, the company that developed this value added service, does not reveal the name of the operator who intends to launch the service. Bharti Airtel revealed that it has no plans to offer this service in the near future.

In other instances of direct marketing on mobile phones entering a new dimension, mobile operator will soon be offering options that allow a mobile subscriber to choose a company’s signature tune as his or her ring tone. Caller to that particular number will listen to a jingle that sells the company’s product, or promotes its brand.

With a person receiving ten to fifteen calls every day, this form of direct marketing is bound to create a lasting impact on business. The service provider launching this particular scheme is also not known. As on date music is customized as ring tones by corporates like ITC, Fortis, Ford India and mobile operators like Airtel, Hutch and Idea.
