Illegal drivers license in Jamaica is one of the main causes for road accidents. Most young drivers today in Jamaica did not learn to drive at any driving institution and therefore does not know the road laws. How can people who cannot read have a drivers license? How can they understand what signs on the roads mean? These drivers are transporting daily innocent people with illegal transportation and illegal drivers license. Should the Governmental department be blamed for this? The approximate cost to buy an illegal drivers license is JAM$15,000 and the price may vary due to the different people who will get it done for you.The approximate price of a legal drivers license is JAM$10,000. So why is it that people choose to spend so much money doing back door dealing? Most people to whom I have spoken with, explained that the process for getting a drivers license the legal way takes just too long and it is not certain that the license will be granted. Some people have had the experience of repeating the driving test, not because they had failed by law but because the driving instructor wants to earn some extra cash for himself.
How can people be so dishonest just for money? To whom from the Governmental department are these back door dealers linked to? Will the Government get rid of those workers in this particular department? It is clear that some of these people are not honest enough to work for our Government. They were placed all over the country to help the citizens on behalf of the Government and to help build our land and all that we can see building up is issuing of illegal documents thats causing the innocent lives of our friends and loved ones. How will the Government respond to this problem? We need a new license system that not just anyone can access. We need new laws and ways to get a legal drivers license in Jamaica. People are willing to spend money to get it so why don´t the Government acknowledge that and make some changes for the betterment of our country, Jamaica.
