India has the second largest number of English-speaking scientists in the world and is the second largest solution provider too. (The first being the United States). There is a great deal of scientific research being done here. Today, Indian scientists are providing answers to companies globally and some solutions have been patented too. They are raking in the moolah as a result. Internet forums are the link between scientists and companies Consequently, many R & D facilities have also been opened here. InnoCentive, YourEncore, NineSigma are some of the firms on the Internet that post the problems and carry the solutions provided. They also pass on rewards from the companies seeking answers for the successful problem solver. There is a need for strategizing and formalizing the relationships and work involved in order to make quicker progress. Innovative individuals require to be recognized and offered incentives. Institutes who provide their space and facilities to work also look to share the glory. There will be plenty of room for misunderstanding if formalities regarding the legalities of whose work is to be recognized and more importantly who shares the prize money are not worked out in advance!
