Sushil Bhasin works for a BPO now. Prior to this he worked in advertising where he learnt to form catchy slogans. Now in his spare time, which has almost become a side profession, he draws cartoons. But you’ll never guess where and how! His first piece sold for Rs. 1000.00. He draws his themes from politics, from films and so on. He coins his catchy lines from his stint in advertising. Based on the shape of the stone, he forms the cartoon image and paints on the slogan and picture. All he needs are some permanent markers and colouring material to form a cool paperweight or a conversation starter. His sales happen by word of mouth. His art has been used in animation films, advertising campaigns and corporate presentations. Recently, he even exhibited at the Swiss Embassy. Presently, he is trying to set up a distribution arrangement with the coffee chain Starbucks. If that works out his pebbles will be worth their weight in gold.
