MIRACLE AYURVEDIC TREATMENT TO DIABETICS. KOTTAKKAL AYURVEDASHALA,INDIA,KERALA. Anything we eat or drink, it is digested in the digestive canal with the help of
various digestive enzymes and hence the digested food products are absorbed
through intestinal walls and they mix with the blood, then after various other
processes, they become the part of the body or in other words they give
energy and solidarity to the body. Some of these food products, which are in
excess, they after certain chemical actions, are kept stored in different storage
depots in the body. These chemical actions are done with the help of some
enzymes and hormones. In cases when this process is being altered, then it
produces various diseases. If same circumstances are present in case of
carbohydrates or in other words, carbohydrate metabolism is being altered,
then hyperglycemia or diabetes occurs. Normally the blood sugar level ranges
from 80 to 120mg. per 100ml of blood in healthy person. When this range
alters, it becomes a tensional factor. According to kidneys function this raised
blood sugar level is tolerable up to the range of 180mg. per 100ml. of blood
(The renal threshold value) i.e. up to this level the sugar never comes in urine
and this limit, the sugar passes through urine of patient and the condition is
termed as glycosuria.
The two factors are responsible for the maintenance of the blood sugar level
normally. One is gluco-corticoids of Adrenal gland and another one is the
hormone insulin, which is secreted in pancreatin from pancreas. Gluco-
corticoids help in rise of blood sugar level as they change stored glycogen into
glucose and send it in the blood circulation, while insulin is responsible for
fall of blood sugar level, because of its action to change free glucose into
glycogen, which has been deposited in the liver and in the muscles of the
body. In this way, gluco-corticoids and insulin in the balanced proportion
keep blood sugar level normal.
Thus we can say that Diabetes or Hyperglycemia is the result of alteration in
the proportion of gluco-corticoids and the insulin.
This proportion may be changed or altered in two way i.e. quantitatively
gluco-corticoids excesses in the blood stream and hence more glucose in freed
form glycogen storage, which could not be neutralized by the normally
present insulin and hence hyperglycemia develops.
On the other hand if the activity of pancreas was suppressed and the shortage
of insulin takes place in the body, then the condition develops and
hyperglycemia follows.
So we can divide diabetes into two groups. One is due to hyperactivity of
Adrenal cortex (hyper production of gluco-corticoids) and another is due to
lack of insulin i.e. lowered activity of pancreas.
PRINCIPLES OF TREATMENT:
When we are treating a diabetes patient we are supposed to balance the ratio of
gluco-corticoids and insulin in normal range in the body and so for the
desired fall of blood sugar level, the injections or tablets containing insulin
are given to the patient externally to responsibility for fall of blood sugar
level.
But here, following points should always be kept in mind:
* Administration of insulin externally never helps in the activity of pancreas,
it only normalizes theblood sugar level directly by its external support by its
action on free glucose to change it into glycogen, and hence blood sugar level
falls. But at the same time when patient gets his insulin requirement
externally then through its reflex action working of pancreas becomes more
and more depressed and insulin production in the body decreases and so
actually the diabetes-producing factor in the body increases.
* Administration of insulin also not help to reduce the production of gluco-

corticoids but it activates adrenal cortex by reflex action to produce more and
more gluco-corticoids and thus factors producing diabetes in the body again
increase.
So, this is the reason behind it, that after administration of insulin too, the
condition of diabetes in patient increases day by day and the patient tend to
become more and more diabetic and his insulin requirement increases
continuously up to last moment.
* Here, another point is present too, that daily check-up of blood sugar level is
not possible and then the patient takes insulin continuously and when its
intake becomes excess against its normal requirement, then blood sugar level
falls below its normal value and the developed condition is then termed as
hypoglycemia. This condition is again tensional.
So, if we are actually interested to treat the condition, we need such
medicines, which by their action on pancreas and adrenal cortex may balance
the production of insulin and gluco-corticoids both. The medicine should
activate the pancreas to produce more insulin and should depress the activity
of adrenal cortex to produce less gluco-corticoid.
Various medicines such as Gudmar buti, Guduchi, Jamun Seed, Basant
Kusumakar Rasa, and Shilajit etc. are described as ant diabetic medicines.
Several other medicines, which are meant for liver and spleen treatment, are
also helpful in the treatment of diabetes. Actual thing is the prescription of
dosage of these medicines.
In addition to Ayurvedic medicines, the treatment through Yoga therapy is
also too much helpful for its permanent cure.
