Write your abstract here. Now a days FDI has became a talk of the town not just because of the feel good factor but also for feel bad factor if wee see from farmers perspectives.Intially when SEZ law passed in 2000 in order to provide competitive hassel free enviorment export & import nobody would have thought that it will erupt intense debate within the country.Though it is a commendable step taken by government which will boost FDI as well create jobs in IT & manufacturing & other sectors. Key reason why there is so much debates going on is not just the enactment of policy but its implementation.India prefers to have FDI more than FII coz the former stays for long time as compared to FII. Agitations & protests by farmers especially of SINGUR have attracted the attention not just from government but also from the urban people side but one thing is really sure that these protests have unveil the loopholes in the SEZ policy. What really amazing about SEZ's are "till now more than 180 projects have been sanctioned & many more in pipelines" the way our government is giving green signal to these projects seems to look like as if they are distributing FREE RICE.Earlier SEZ used to termed as "SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE" but now in india it termed as "SPECIAL EXPLOITATION ZONE".If we see the other side that is of investors who are really investing in indian SEZ projects are complaining that "the moment they purchase any land that moment they lost half of the land because later they came to know that this or that part is for ROAD OR some thing under government projects that's where the problem arises.
I think our government should have the data in the MAP FORM which will help government employees to maintain the track record of lands under the umbrella of government & will help investors to purchase the land by choosing the land virtually on net & this will also avoid future conflicts from land owners. The other flaw about government is before giving order for land acquisitions without taking farmers OR land owners in confidence. One of the farmer said that " government is acting as corpoarate honchos rather than the government one & behaving as dectators. Is it a sign of DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT OR DICTATOR GOVERNMENT.SEZ can avoid protest & agitations from farmers if they sit together & search for solution which should help both the sides.
