A Theory is Only a Theory
It is heartening to see that after decades of brainwashing by
influential but misguided segments
in our educational system the creation vs. evolution debate is still very
much alive and even experiencing
a resurgence of late. Many are legitimately questioning the validity of
teaching the
"theory" of evolution as "fact" while dismissing the intelligent creation
alternative as
"unscientific."
Evolution has not satisfactorily explained the really big questions as
to how the universe
came into existence or what is the origin or future of life? Nor does it even
pretend to address
the obvious problem of evil in our world. As science continues to probe
deeper into these
mysteries more and more scientists are coming to the conclusion that an all
intelligent Creator
is the only logical explaination for this vast universe and that random
processes over billions of
years is an inadequate assumption.
I must confess I never could see the "science" behind the logic that
says throwing a bunch
of watch parts into a bag and shaking the bag for an unspecified period of
time (perhaps
milenniums) will eventually produce a watch. Such logic defies both common
sense
and the laws of probability. Yet it is precisely this line of thinking one
must embrace if he
accepts evolution as the explaination for life's origin.
Darwin with his "Origin of Species (1859) emerged as a shining star of
an era that did
not want the God of the bible. Science has not solved all mankind's problems
and
never will. Evolution has no answer for problems like terrorism, nuclear
annhilation,
environmental catastrophes or the various plagues sweeping the earth.
The bible continues to stand the test of time and remains the best
seller
in books for good reason. It tells the truth and is the only
book to adequately address
the spititual reality in all of us.
