Child’s Car seat or R.I.P.
You maybe ignoring the law on car seat requirements for small children but you are not protecting your own child. Have you ever wonder what happens when you slam on your brakes and your child slips out of the car seatbelt and flies into the windshield? Or the shoulder belt that goes across the chest is at the child’s throat because of the height difference and it automatically locks when the brakes are applied? It will definitely choke or cause serious injuries to the throat. So, being in the seat without a child car seat is dangerous for such little human beings. Be aware that the inside can do more harm to a child than an adult.
I’m a mother with two little children and have worked as an Emergency Medical Technician on the ambulance in big cities. I have seen and treated all ages in car wrecks and it is not a pretty sight to see little ones get hurt. This does tear my heart along with anger because those little ones do not deserve to die or go through pain from injury. Just because you live in a small town doesn’t mean you are safe compare to cities. What if someone passes out while driving and their vehicle slams into your vehicle? We may be excellent drivers but we have no control to someone else’s vehicle. So, I feel like the only one or few of many in this small town protecting my children as well as obeying the law. I have seen too many mothers and fathers that have young children without the child car seats. Just be aware that the special made car seats for a small child gives more protection to them than without. Let’s not put our little ones in harm’s way.
