Road To Kanha
Kanha in Madhya Pradesh, India, is a weekend wildlife destination that has natural spaces for adventure tourism and as well as relaxation. The journey to Kanha National Park can be taken by road or by rail. The Royal Tiger Resort is a perfect retreat. It has eighteen unobtrusive stone cottages designed to blend with the serene surroundings and canopy of sal trees and are equipped with all modern amenities .All rooms have verandahs that open into large lawns, to enjoy morning breakfast.
The park is navigated with help of trained guides and drivers a top Gypsys to sight daily routine of four legged striped orange and black tigers in their natural habitat. The place is considered to have the most sizable population of tigers anywhere in India.
The grassland is filled with herds of Chitals who with their burnt spotted gold –orange coats make perfect picture post cards when captured on camera. However its most famous inhabitants are the largest wild cattle in the world and wild boar. Langurs, hammocks and gaurs also delight visitors with their antics.
Those looking for an old world experience can sight and shoot, only by cameras, wild animals atop an elephant with help of mahouts. Infact considering the tall grasses of the park elephant safari is rather considered the best option than early morning jeep safaris.
The days at the resort pass quickly by watching drizzle as skies open up quite frequently here, taking leisurely walks by the river and enjoying evening bonfires. The food at the resort is light and healthy. A weekend here assures one thing i.e.-incredible silence, the peace and quiet of jungle that is complete opposite of city snarls.
