The last book of K. H. Abdurrahman Wahid or in Indonesia he had been called Gus Dur, The Civilization Dialogue for Tolerances and Peaces, at least officially launched on last Monday, 6th of December 2010. This book has made by working together with the founding of Soka Gakkai International, Daisaku Ikeda. Soka Gakkai is the center of Japanese culture which formed by Daisaku Ikeda in almost around of the nations in the world.
Zannuba Arifah Chafsoh Wahid (Yenny), the daughter of Gus Dur, said that the wrote has finished by Gus Dur before he died but it didn’t published yet. This book is contained about spiritually conversation between the 4th president of Indonesia (Gus Dur) with one of Buddhist of Japan (Mr. Ikeda) on last 2005. Gus Dur with his moderate Islam background just like melted in a joyful of meeting with Ikeda and his Buddhist background. Seems like no wall between them. They were talking perceptions about the harmony relationship between human and God, human and human.
One thing which hasn’t written on this book is the question from Ikeda to Gus Dur about his feeling after he dropped out from his President position. At that time, Gus Dur answered that there was no regret and just lighted up. But the most regretted by him it’s only one thing, that he must lose tens of his Beethoven collections. It was his joke.
He is adorable person. He is a hero for many people in Indonesian. The pioneer for religions freedom.
Beside with Gus Dur, Mr. Ikeda also has published his another dialogue books with several people such as historian of English Arnold Joseph Toynbee, Russian Prime minister was Mikhael Gorbachev, an economic expert of America John Kenneth Galbraith, and many high people others from around the world.
