Who knows the future? But some people strongly believe that the world will end in 2012 and they are preparing for that apocalyptic event.One of them is Patrick Geryl,a soft spoken man,founded a "survival group".He started gathering materials necessary to survive-water purifiers,wheel barrows(with spare tires),dust masks, and vegetable seeds.According to Geryl,nothing would be left then and the survival group would start an entirely new civilization from scratch.
Geryl likes to add about polar reversal which makes the sun to rise in the west.Then shattering earthquakes,massive tidal waves and torrent volcanic eruptions will follow.During December 2012,he continues,nuclear reactors will melt,buildings will smash, and a heavy cloud of volcanic dust will block out the sun for 40 years.Geryl says the only survivors are the prepared ones.
Dennis Mcclung,who is not a firm believer but thinks that they ought to be prepared for everything.He runs a website dedicated to 2012,an online survival supply store.His website also features an official "2012 countdown clock" and suggests customers to "be smart,be ready".Mcclung claims that he has several thousand visitors a week.They are from all over the world,including India,Netherland and USA.
One of his customers of his site is Thomas Lehman who is saving money for survival gear.He is ready to fight the fate.
Regarding all these matters,the beliefs,predictions,ancient wisdom and the ancient mayan calender etc. are playing major roles.
Terrorism,9/11,ecological disasters,cyclones,floods,earthquakes or tsunamis etc.occuring now and then during past years.These events,some think just as environmental hazards ,but some strongly believe as previous alarm for 2012.
Gery's group that consists of core 16 people but wait list probably lists hundred.According to Geryl thenew supposed civilization after 2012 will be concentrated on small world population to minimize all the common and big problems that exist today.
