Some tasks to be accomplished in our life may be difficult or even impossible, but failures make us depressed and we may even reach a point of no return. This topic has been discussed in an article on the editorial page in Times of India dt. Nov 02, 2011. Due to the tension and feelings of insecurity we keep several options to complete a work, as a sort of insurance against failure of first plan. But due to this factor only, our efforts may not be adequate for making the first plan successful. With more options available, the desire to get success is in inverse proportion. When we have feelings of no-other-option, we feel the forces against us, as threat to our survival. Due to action and reaction being equal and opposite, mind set level of our abilities rises up and reaction matches these forces and the best comes out of us. When cornered we are more concerned with survival, and not with the outcome. Self confidence surpasses our faith in any other thing. When we enter unknown areas we have fears of failure due to which our efforts to rise get obstructed. Many successes are achieved due to strong self belief. We need not have any escape route if we have courage and conviction. By having security, we do not have thrill. Adversity leads to growth. Nature also rewards courage and conviction by giving help from unexpected quarters.
