There is much discussion on the media about the handshake with the Queen who is visiting Northern Ireland
over a 2 day period. The Queen is set to shake the hand with Martin McGuinness Deputy First Minister of
It is an historic meeting and there have been blogs all day from David Trimble and Gerry Adams such is the
furore the visit is causing.
The occasion is that of the Queen's Jubilee Year and Her Majesty is visiting Northern Ireland which is known as a British state as it is linked politically to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and --- Northern Ireland.
The Queen has visited Enniskillen to remember victims of the troubles over the last 3O odd years and she was invited into a Roman Catholic Church in Northern Ireland as a message of good will and peace to all concerned with
these celebrations and felicitations!
There was a delay in arrival of the The Queen accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh and the problems of getting the plane in which they were travelling off the ground due to bad weather so the aircraft arrived at Aldergrove Airport,
Belfast, Northern Ireland as a result of this departure from pre arranged conditions.
The Queen seen in a relaxed mood is well geared for the momentum of this much heralded meeting with
Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness so it is interesting to see the great reception the Queen received upon her
arrival in Northern Ireland.
There was much flag waving and celebrations when the Queen commenced her visit.
The Troubles in Northern Ireland seemed to have been cast aside for a moment or two and Her Majesty The Queen's visit seemed to be the pivot on which the system rolled for just a moment or two according to the Reuters Video which I received only this afternoon. Hard work pays UP and in these Hard Times everybody looks for good news!
