This is my first article and don't know how good I am in it. Just want to write about a latest expereince I had gone threw and similar things what I had heard from my friends and relatives.
The National Carrier in India, we say the AIR INDIA. In our olden days somewhere in the 1980s we used to see ads and banners or even statues of "A MAN WITH BIG MOUSTACHE AND A TURBAN" with welcome hands and a pleasant smile. But why the hospitality of the ad is lagging now adays when there is a great boom in the aviation sector, because people value time as money and they just want to reach their destination in seconds if possible.
But still when taking with the South India people, especially we say Mallus (Keralites) as common, we say are a little bit of Misers in spending money. Air India started with an economic carrier mainly to the middle east where Keralites are mostly located calling as AIR INDIA EXPRESS somewhere in the 2000 or so.
Its Onam time here in Kerala, people had come to spend their valuable time with the family and friends back in home town. To see how fast the new house they are building had gone etc and many more personal commitments. At the end they will book the ticket just two days back, before the start of their children's school or just previous day before joining office after the 30 or 45 days of vacation.
People come with big luggage in cars or so, and when they reach here at Airport they mostly get an answer the flight got cancelled or your ticket is not confirmed. Then the passengers goes for a big fight with the staffs or related saying no intimation had come to me saying the flight got cancelled, I had booked the ticket 3 months before and how can you say now that the ticket is not confirmed. The passenger are helpless with this matter and later they just agree to the staff with tears "OK WE WILL AGREE TO GO FOR THE OFFER WHAT YOU PROPOSED?".
The first phase is over, ie ticket got cancelled or flight got delayed or cancelled, but now my urgency is "I WANT TO GO TO TOILET? WHERE CAN I FIND ONE?" Haha, that is a big question to keep hands on your nose in India, you can talk with the walls beside and finish off your requirement.
Is this way a country with rich culture and custom and who laughs at the English or an American who uses a tissue paper in the toilet should do? These are our basic needs, people come from far off places to see off their dear ones, and the aviation sector gives them nothing but only tears.
So please provide with more flights and on right time for your valuable customers and proper faciliation and lodging
