Beijing, Sept 4 (ANI): Senior Chinese and US diplomats have reportedly agreed to work together to advance the stalled six-party talks on the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.

Earlier, China's special representative for Korean Peninsula affairs, Wu Dawei, met North Korea's special envoy Stephen Bosworth, Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell and the White House chief adviser on Asia Jeff Bader during his visit to Washington between August 31 and September 3 this year.
Both the United States and China agreed to play a constructive role in maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, Xinhua reports.

Both the countries believe that the six-party talks are an effective tool to maintain peace and stability within the peninsula, as well as to denuclearise the region, and want to work with other related parties to create conditions to push the talks forward.

In addition to China, the US, North Korea and South Korea, other parties to the talks include Japan and Russia. (ANI)
