What Occupy Wall Street Can Learn From the Tea Party

With that said, let me give you some applications from the Tea Party movement that Occupy WallStreet should be using to be more effective.

First, Occupy Wall Street is fighting with way too many demands which are submitted by an user who doesn’t represent the party itself but is still on the website for the unofficial, official party? Confused? So is the rest of America. They list everything from equal rights and open borders (yea!) to spending more money and forcing people to stop using fossil fuels (boo!) The Tea Party started with one simple subject, spending. The Tax Enough Already Party started during the end of the Bush term when the first stimulus was getting passed. One platform that grabs not only Republicans but Independents and few Democrats. Let’s face it, without Independents Republicans and Democrats would be nothing.

Second, Occupy Wall Street is fighting its own party. Tea Party started at the end of Bush, when we knew the country was voting Democrat. The Republicans were so awful during the Bush era, that you knew the next in line was going to be a Democrat. Momentum for the group started when the government passed another stimulus, which was the downfall for the Democrats and the reason they lost the next election. Obama still has a year left in the office. The protestors are fighting their own party and I believe will cause Blue Dog Democrats to walk away farther from them.

Finally, what are they really protesting? Are they really protesting greed? One protester told the WSJ

“We’re not here to take down Wall Street. It’s not poor against rich. It’s about big money dictating which politicians get elected and what programs get funded,” she said.

History has shown that the wealthy make politicians dirty but we have a choice to fix that. Here in America we have a special event called an “election” where we elect people into the government. If you are mad about this, protest in DC! That would make more sense, since they are the ones falling into temptation. The tempters will always tempt, but people have the choice to accept that temptation! Listen up OWS people, if you are really mad at this, get the people you want elected! Like the Tea Party, they actually made a difference for their cause by talking the talk.
