The Tibetan Book of the Dead

Book Summary   by:Penny1234     Original Author: Eva K Dargyay
ª
This abstract was translated from EL LIBRO TIBETANO DE LOS MUERTOS

The book is interesting because in the East they have a different perception of death. In the case of Tibet, a death does not provoke tears but instead provokes joy as the Tibetans see it as a process of freedom through which the spirit achieves true freedom. This is the subject of the book, which details how to reach this state of freedom in the afterlife. The Tibetans have a series of prayers to take people out of the "intermediate state" which they enter into after death. These prayers make references to Buddha and to other entities that, not being an expert in this subject, I don´t want to go into depth about. The book is very spiritual, it gives us a new way to look at and to confront death.
