Often my inbox is full of junk and its not often I receive invitations from the
National Geographic Channel in Australia to phone locally but as I live in the UK and not in
Australia I declined the invitation and sent an email requesting the London Office of the
National Geographic. The first time I read the National Geographic Magazine was in the Sixties and I was just a girl but it was thrust at me over my desk and I dutifully flicked the pages as I sipped my
coffee and ate my English Bun during my coffee break. The Photography was the most impressive and the colour and culture of the content made a lasting impression on my young mind. However, this time I received a blog though it was not originally from Australia but from Turkey and the message read that it was a Travel Writer Competition and that the entry requirements were for a Film Maker so I promptly emailed a Winning Travel Writer .. The Young Travel Writer of the Year in the 1990s Myles Thompson who won The Observer Young Travel Writer of the Year Competition I believe in and around 1966 - 1997 and he was thrilled absolutely with the blog and found it interesting as Myles Thompson now is an Award Winning Film Maker who won a prestigious prize recently in South Africa on Wild Life specifically Vultures and so he was very interested to be invited to compete for the National Geographic Film Competition .. so thanks Australia and the National Geographic for blogging news that I shared with Myles Thompson whose career is relevant to that particular competition as it was directed towards Film Makers .. and I am a Poet and always will be ......... nice work!
