I had recently visited this first man-made city in India- Lavasa. This city is approx 250 km away from Mumbai and about 40 kms away from Pune. The waterfront villas, amazing climate and the beautiful Promenade tempts you to stay outside the hotel room and forces you to have a cup of coffee with your loved ones and friends.
Nature trail, Bamboosa, water sports activities at the lake front are some of the attractions at Lavassa. This under construction city with only four hotels to stay makes the hotels little expensive on the weekends. But you might get a good deal if booked well in advance. All the hotels are good options.
For your stomach- This place provides a variety of cuisines Italian, chinese, Lebanese, North Indian with a wide variety of desert shops around for your sweet tooth.
However, one needs to keep in mind that this place is still developing so you are bound to see some construction sites, please do not get dissappointed with that rather enjoy the beauty of this amazing man-made place where even the lake is also man- made. The city is equipped with amenities like school, hospital, information center, multiplex.
A place worth going with friends and of course your family.
