According to the Global Post prostitution is legal and the Global Post has commented that a lot of houses for transsexuals and prostitutes are legally alright to operate but recently the Police in Turkey have cracked down and closed these brothels. The streets of Istanbul then are crawling with Prostitutes and Transsexuals looking for a deal for well, I guess, whomever turns up. But in contrast to the UK Brothels are illegal and so is prostitution and there is not a weekend passes but I dont listen into the lecture on street girls and the density of the problem here in the UK. The Church preaches about the circumstances of these prostitutes and girls of the street and we are all harnessed to be forgiving of their crimes in this country. In fact on the occasion now for five years I have heard the protesting of the Authority against Brothels and Prostitutes here in England so I am well versed on the much discussed subject of brothels, street girls, and prostitutes.
However, I take the point that when I was in Istanbul recently I saw nothing of the problem but then I guess I was in the better side of the city but I did walk the streets of Istanbul mostly as a writer to see what was going on and to get a glimpse of the crowds, and scenic views of the European City of Culture Istanbul 2010.
Thanks Global Post for the interesting article ... hard work pays UP!
