Four dead as typhoon brings heavy rain to Japan
Western part of Japan received heavy rainfall killing 4 people and 11 missing. This is not all, the typhoon is approaching the main island Honshu, is the weather bureau’s report. In the area of Hyogo, three people were confirmed dead, out of which one is a woman and two are men. The woman was found dead inside a gutter, and one man died inside the submerged car. The reason for the other man’s death is not confirmed. In the nearby Okayama region, one confirmed death of an aged woman reported due to landslide. Mudslides and rising water levels are a constant threat to the people in those areas. Japan’s capital city Tokyo is also hit by heavy wind with a speed of 108 KM per hour, which is expected to become severe soon.
The weather agency has established the fact that typhoon Etau is approaching the Honshu island at a speed of 15 KM per hour. The location of the typhoon is estimated to be 390 KM south of the Shikoku island.
Japan being a country of cluster of islands is always at the risk of facing this type of calamities. When the storm strikes, it also bring torrential rail making the situation even worse for the people in the affected areas. This time too, heavy rain is forecasted by the weather agency of Japan.
