He called the executioner and said, “Cut this baby into two pieces and give one pieces to each of these women.”
At this cruel order of the Emperor, the pious woman who was the actual mother of the baby burst into tears and said, “Your Majesty please, doesn’t kill my baby. Allow it to live and give it to that lady so that I may feel that my baby is still alive with her.” The wicked woman on the other hand, kept silent and did not utter even a single word.
Emperor Sulaiman ordered the executioner to handover the baby to the pious woman and to imprison the wicked woman for stealing the baby. The officers and the people present there were much surprised at the wisdom of Sulaiman.
