Gary F. Zeolla had the bicycle accident on July 28, 1999 when he rode his bike along the bumby hill. He was hit by a white car which was driven by 75 old years lady . He tried to avoid but it was too late. He flipped over the top of the car and fall down. He had seriously hurts on his back, shoulder, elbow, knee,many ribs and others,he did suffer a concussion.He was a complete blank for about an hour after the accident. He laid in an ambulance and was brought to Albegheny General Hospital which had a trauma unit.
He needed taking Xrays, CT Scan of his head, some point of chest tube put into his right lungs. His arm must be in a sling to keep the shoulder as immobilized as possible.
His parents were called from the hospital but his mother was unable to come because of many health problems too.I can only imagine the anxiety her or him.
He moved into regular room and impossible to walk around the hospital for some days because of the chest tube and soft cast. After a week , the chesty tube and the soft cast was taken of the left arm . He can take a walk around the hospital floor and he was released from the hospital .
At home , he began going for walks outside although still having a little pain.After five weeks of the accident , he still had some pains so he must have X-rays, and taking physical therapy. About a week he felt strengthen and normally again.
