TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has denied Nunun Nurbaetie, a suspect in the travellers check case, her request for outpatient care. The anti-graft institution only assigned a team of doctors to examine the health of the wife of Adang Daradjatun, former Indonesian Police deputy chief. We believe Nunun does not require outpatient care, said KPK spokesman Johan Budi S.P. at his office on Thursday.
Johan refused to specify why the KPK denied Nununs request. Johan only asserted that the suspectimplicated in for distributing travelers checks during the election process for the Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor positiondoes not require such care at the moment. Thats our analysis, the spokesman added.
Nunun has been declared as suspect for allegedly distributing travellers checks to legislators who chaired during the period of 2004 to 2009. The checks were allegedly distributed in order to secure a winning for Miranda Goeltom in the 2004 Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor selection process. However, during questioning on Dec. 12, 2011, Nunun almost fainted in the KPKs interrogation room. Nunun also claimed that she has acute amnesia.
