The headline reads: Turkish Bridegroom kills 3 relatives at his wedding in Turkey is blogged by Turkish Digest on a BBC Turkey ... Istanbul story which causes a lot of interest here in the UK as we have a Muslim Population known as British Muslims. Apparently similar to customs in Ireland NI they have a custom of firing into the air during the celebration of a Turkish wedding and on this occasion the whole episode went terribly wrong and 3 of the relatives of the wedding party were killed. I read about the IRA during the NI Troubles who had military style funerals in Belfast and were accustomed to fire a gun round over the heads of the people there ... the IRA or over the coffin of the dead. I read that the practice was banned as it was seen as a para military activity. But it is interesting to learn that in Turkey the Turkish Practice is to fire a round of bullets presumably over the head of the wedding guests or the Bride and Groom but unfortunately on this occasion according to BBC Istanbul Turkey the whole wedding was a disaster as they managed to kill the guests rather than celebrate the wedding of the Turkish Couple. So perhaps its possible to suggest that this Turkish Practice of firing gun fire over the heads of the wedding guests ought to be banned NOW to avoid further bloodshed!
Thanks Turkish Digest!
