Life of the writer has been a real issue in my 25 years of full time teaching as my pocket book approach has proven to be infallibly correct and nor did I nor do I seek to bang on relentlessly on books, writers, and best selling writers as if it were all just a piece of cake. Rather I chose to pick up and depict the Life of the Writer and his or her relationships, the background to the artform, the political waywardness of authors and the influences brought to bear on authors whose lives had touched our hearts throughout my long, lengthy career as a Lecturer in Drama and Theatre. But on more than one occasion I have been invited to update the entire English Oxford Cambridge Texts and textbooks as my friends who were my employers did not like the "take" the great Language Books Authors had taken and wanted an instant correction, a media style approach in several languages not forgetting of course that that is and was Europe Speaking. So I diligently gave up my evenings and did a complete additional materials input on Cambridge and Oxford Language Books an attempt at relating that Culture to the Culture I was teaching and working with my choice of an approach on say the Life of the Writer rather than what writers write was acceptable and somewhat deflated a heavy situation where the Employers believed that the Language Books were to be questioned by this teacher and my teaching partner and we were not to swallow whole everything and anything these Language Text Book Writers had come up with . this approach that is The Life Of the Writer . and Language for Europe was a triumph over disaster and even today I marvel at my accomplishments and the energy it took to achieve all of this so its thanks to my former employers friends and fellow experts during this 30 year period!
