Teach Me Fairly and I Will Make It: An Average Students Lament

Personal Experience Summary   by:NikkyDuke
ª

How can you, a fellow human, look at another human like me and then
twist your face in disgust?
How can you judge me or hate me because of my skin colour?
How can you treat me so differently and yet live each day happy?
How can the ONLY one I look up to look at me as if t were inferior?
How can you? How CAN you??!
Each day you enter class and all you do is enter class and teach,
then go when the period is over.
Each day you DELIBERATELY skip my raised hand when a question is
asked!
Each day, I ask a question and you never look at me as you answer.
Each BLESSED day, you ignore my greetings and walk past!
Each day you talk about my hand writing and how the ugliness
irritates you even upon the changes i made in it.
Each day you criticize me and that makes me cry yet you give me no
comfort!
Shame on you! SHAME ON YOU ALL!!
  I was born a human!
  A human with a well-functioning brain!
And when I after I was born, I didn't know what was set out for me
but I knew that whatever it was, I could do it with ease!
But now you treat me as though I was dumb!
  It's not fair!
All you do is choose those who you THINK are smart for competitions
that they are reluctant to do until you coerce them!
You still choose those that are reluctant to do the competitions even
after I willingly offer to do it!
I know you do this all because I am not WORTHY to you!
I am a little child and I want training, NEED love and require NO
partiality.
I can do ANY subject that is brought to me.
I can give you what you need from me (a straight A student) if you
give me what I BEG from you.
I beg from you a good training!
A good training is ALL I need to make it through.
But how can you give me that when you judge my every move?
How can you grade others higher than me just because I don't LOOK
bright?
How do you expect me to pass my exams well when all the encouragement
is only given to those who get A's?
How do you even expect me to try harder when my soul is soo down?
I will NOT take it anymore!
  Listen to me now;
I am capable of doing ANYTHING that you feel is too advanced for me but okay for my other classmates!
I am smart and I can read!
I can do ANY competition that is within my subject course!
  I am bright and diligent!
Teacher! Teacher! I CAN do it!
All I require is to be taught fairly!
If you teach me in a good way, I will never forget!
If you make me happy but also make me remember, I will be the best in
all I do!
If you just teach me with a high standard and make me understand it
perfectly, then God bless you!
And if I fail after you taught me or if I cheat, then you can punish
me and give me detention because if you do teach me well, I will have no
cause at all to fail!
  So my beloved teachers,
Teach me well, fairly and understandably and I will become the best
the world has ever known because I know I can!

A poem all teachers should read

As an ESL teacher, I can only hope that I am not the kind of teacher you described. Every teacher or teacher wanna-be should read this!
